12-12-23 THOUGHTS
We all need to spend time in the 119th Psalm frequently. David’s desire for God’s WORD and commandments is presented in this psalm most powerfully. His is a heart that aches and groans and knows its desperate need for a sustaining in the mind of his Creator! Somewhere in all these thoughts and words of David, we need to find how his heart progressed to its apparent maturity. God’s Mind in our mind is our desire! This takes time, work and an awesome thirst. Matt 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” I am impressed with David’s maturity in this process, yet he asks God for “A REVIVAL”! More begats a desire for still more! We are like lost sheep seeking the salvation of the Lord! Thank You God for the ASSURANCE OF A RISEN LORD and Your SPIRIT WORDS that provide that salvation confidence!
Ps 119:159-176 Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your lovingkindness. 160 The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting. 161 Princes persecute me without cause, But my heart stands in awe of Your words. 162 I rejoice at Your word, As one who finds great spoil. 163 I hate and despise falsehood, But I love Your law. 164 Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous ordinances. 165 Those who love Your law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble. 166 I hope for Your salvation, O LORD, And do Your commandments. 167 My soul keeps Your testimonies, And I love them exceedingly. 168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, For all my ways are before You. 169 Let my cry come before You, O LORD; Give me understanding according to Your word. 170 Let my supplication come before You; Deliver me according to Your word. 171 Let my lips utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes. 172 Let my tongue sing of Your word, For all Your commandments are righteousness. 173 Let Your hand be ready to help me, For I have chosen Your precepts. 174 I long for Your salvation, O LORD, And Your law is my delight. 175 Let my soul live that it may praise You, And let Your ordinances help me. 176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments.
My Prayer:
Father God, give us a powerful longing for Your salvation and all the awesome things and accompany that salvation. Teach us to stand in awe of Your words. Revive us, O God. Arouse us from comfort and apathy, and turn us from being children in knowing You, to mature adults. May we find a pure delight as we reach for You with our all. In the name of our Lord who has saved us, Amen
